The satellites will provide 1,000 seats at $2,650 apiece to the $5 million Venom PKO. It is the largest progressive knockout event in online poker, and the first of four Day 1s will take place on October 20.
"Players love our Venom Fever satellites because it allows them to earn a $2,650 seat for a low amount, with buy-ins starting around $30," said Chris Moneymaker, Team Pro for Americas Cardroom.
"That's why we tell everyone that this is one fever you definitely want to catch!"
Players in the Venom PKO start with a bounty on their head, and when they knock out another player, they get 50% of the target's reward. The other half is placed on the hunter's head, implying that bounties climb steadily - reaching six figures - as the tournament proceeds.
Moneymaker said, "Players can punch their $2,650 ticket for mere pennies through Skips and Venom Blitz Satellites, or for literally $0 via Steps and Freerolls."
In other recent poker news, PokerStars players were plunged into pandemonium on Sunday when all PokerStars events were cancelled due to technical issues. Some of the events were already underway when PokerStars announced the sudden cancellation, prompting numerous customers to take to Twitter to vent their wrath at the online casino operator.
It was also confirmed earlier this week that the PokerStars Players NL Hold'em Championship (PSPC) will return in 2023. The event will take place at the Baha Mar hotel in the Bahamas for five days, from January 30 to February 3, 2022.
