After concluding his 16-year professional career in 2021, Wernbloom has been appointed as the latest brand ambassador for Betsson.
He continues the legacy of former Swedish tennis prodigy Jonas Bjorkman and former professional ice hockey player Christian "Fimpen" Eklund.
The 35-year-old former footballer, who most recently played for IFK Goteborg, will participate in a number of sport-related initiatives and productions, in addition to Betsson's football-themed activation.
While refraining from divulging the precise details of their partnership, Wernbloom conveyed his enthusiasm regarding the prospect of collaborating with Betsson.
"This is in fact my very first proper job." "If only we could accomplish the same entertaining things with football as Betsson did with Fimpens Resa," he explained.
"However, I do not wish to divulge the precise nature of our collaborative endeavours." "I am now ecstatic to begin discussing football rather than participating in it."
Betsson has achieved notable success in the past through its collaborations with brand ambassadors, most notably with Eklund.
Collectively, they created the web series "Fimpens Resa," an anthology that centres on ice hockey at the grassroots level in Sweden and translates to "Fimpen's Journey" in English. The organisation now endeavours to replicate this triumph with Wernbloom.
PR Manager at Betsson, Robin Olenius, stated, "We have been searching for a football player with a large heart and a good sense of humour for quite some time. An individual who is dedicated to all that we do and gets along well with our other ambassadors was what we were seeking.
"Undoubtedly, football is the most heavily wagered-upon sport, and Wernbloom and I will continue to produce the highest quality content in the industry."
